Amman- The Ukrainian Embassy in Amman, Monday evening, held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of Ukraine, attended by a number of officials, diplomats and journalists.
Ukrainian ambassador Sergei Pasco extended his country’s deepest appreciation to the people of Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II, Jordanian Government and the Parliament for their strong and consistent support to Ukraine in the United Nations Security Council and other international arena.
“Ukraine and Jordan have been reliable partners who developed multifaceted cooperation for the benefits of our people in economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. We hope that this cooperation will continue in future,” he said.
The envoy also praised the role played by citizens in strengthening relations between the two countries, noting that about 5 thousand Ukrainian citizens are living in Jordan and have created a strong and united community represented by the cultural society and organization “The Ukrainian House in Jordan”.
He also urged Ukrainian citizens to register with Ukrainian Consulate in order to vote in the 2019 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, describing it as a vital matter for the future of their country.
